Fall of French Empire; War with England | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 8

Welcome back guys to Part 8 of my Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay as the one and only: NIGERIA. This episode is really a turning point in the game, something that I will explain later on in this post. Where we left off, I had recently captured the French capital of Paris. At this point, the French were basically done.

The French still had quite the army and territory that I had to maneuver through so I was still at war with them for quite the while. Meanwhile, the French had a navy that was interfering with the effectiveness of mine; I wanted to take them out and continue on eradicating the French from the planet. The only problem was, The French navy was hiding under English borders...

You sure know how to piss someone off Elizabeth
There was no way I was gonna give into that demand (granted it wouldn't really affect me anyways). I had a better alternative: Declare war on England

Moving Up Western Europe; War with Napoleon | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 7

Hey guys, welcome back to Part 7 of my Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay as Nigeria. We just declared war on Napoleon after having secured the Iberian peninsula by taking out Spain and Portugal.

The beginnings of the war were stagnant and very tense. What blocked both of us from advancing was the Pyrenees mountain range and I wanted to eliminate French troops along the border before moving my troops forward to Lyon. I eventually pushed through, however, it was a long battle.

I used a small navy fleet on the Atlantic to assist in taking out any foreign troops, then, to attack the city of Lyon and to defend it from advancements from the enemy. Lyon fell as soon as I caught the upper hand, my army had crossed the Pyrenees and was moving deeper into French territory.

The French were close to retaking Lyon, but again my navy helped in warding off troops as well as my army that had now crossed the Pyrenees on their way for another tedious battle for the French capital: Paris.

Getting Foothold in Europe; Fall of Portuguese | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 6

Hey guys, AfricanManbeast here with Part 6 of the AMAZING Giant Earth Map Game as Nigeria. So far we have taken over Central and Eastern Africa (Except for the 1-2 cities I left for Ethiopia) as well as taken over almost all of the Carthaginian empire. I'm still at war with Carthage in fact. I wanted to completely eradicate them from Africa, for trading reasons and for personal reasons as well (I'm a psychotic monster)

At the beginning of this episode the only cities that Hannibal had left were Utique and his capital Carthage. I quickly mobilize my army and surround Utique, another (good) coastal city. I split up the army in the north to start heading and lay siege to the capital Carthage since I didn't need all of my units in order to take Utique, I wanted to save as much time as possible for what I knew would be a pretty long game. I take Utique without any complications.

Collapse of Carthaginian Empire | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 5

AfricanManBeast back again with Part 5 of my Giant Earth map gameplay. This part continues on my expansion into Southern Africa as well as war with the Carthaginian Empire.

Where I left off, I was just about to capture the Carthaginian city of Gades. I pushed north to capture the cities of Carthago Nova, a coastal city, and Saguntum, an unimportant city in the middle of the desert. I captured Saguntum but Carthago Nova was more of a struggle. Did I ever mention how annoying the Carthaginian navy is?

I lost quite a few naval units because of it and I was pretty upset at that. Needless to say I continued advancing further into Carthage lands and with that, I captured Carthago Nova.

Bye Bye Songhai; Securing West Africa | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 4

Hey guys, AfricanManBeast! This will be a longer post because not only am I going to war with Songhai, I eventually go to war with Carthage as well.

For the longest of time, I was ignoring those 2 civilizations because I wanted to deal with Ethiopia and the eastern part of Africa. Now that they're gone, I focused my attention back on Songhai and Carthage. They had annoyed me, stealing all the land north of Africa, the Songhai even settling Taghaza so freaking close to my capital.

The Songhai were first, as I talked about in my previous post, I moved my troops to the heartland. The more troops I moved, however, the more troops I see coming out of the Songhai, it was scary.

Fall of Egypt | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 3

*NOTE* Better quality pictures

Hey guys! AfricanManBeast here back with Part 3 of My Giant Earth Map conquest as Nigeria. This part will be shorter than the others since this one will just be detailing my attack on the Egyptian Empire.

Speaking of attacking the Egyptian Empire, I attacked the turn I started. My troops were in place, now all I had to do was to take ou the Egyptian troops surrounding the city before I start attacking the city itself. My goal was to not have a single unit die in this campaign.

I cleared out any front troops with my Trebuchets and pushed forward with my Musketmen and Pikemen along the  Nile River. Once the path was clear I pushed across the Nile River and southeast of the capital, the Crossbowmen following. On the northern front, I had to whittle down the remaining Musketman and Horseman before pushing my Trebuchets forward to start attacking the city. After I had done that, everything was easy: just whittle down Thebe's HP and walk into the city...

Taking Central Africa; March Towards Egypt | Civilization V Giant Earth Map Gameplay Part 2

Hey guys AfricanManBeast here, and this report will go well into detail about Part 2 of my giant Earth map Civilization 5 game as Nigeria.

From the last report, I had launched an attack on Ethiopia, although they fought hard, I was able to capture my first city, Lalibela, from them. I used some turns to recuperate from the Battle of Lalibela, I also was sending more reinforcements to help in the war effort.

Haile was now afraid of the might of the Nigerian empire. I was emerging victorious. My next city was Gondar. As I crept south towards Gondar, I noticed how hard Haile was trying to protect it by surrounding it with units. I knew they would be trouble so I had to take them out first. I also couldn't attack Gondar immediately because I needed to wait for my siege units to traverse the jungle to get in range of the city.

It was difficult to travel through jungle and forest

Democracy 3 AAR - Realfail's America (Term 1)

Note: Mods and DLC I'm playing with will be at the bottom of the post.
Hello Noobventures!

I'm Realfail and today I will be Leader of the Free World, in DEMOCRACY 3! (Yeaaaaaaah)

First, I implemented the Teach First policy which just gets really good students to become teachers. One of my current crises is Pupil Tail which leads to Skills Shortage so lowering the education gap will help with that. I need to remember to pull it back later so I don't get high teacher unemployment. Next, I increased funding for the Teacher Development Programme and Teacher Training in order to speed up the decay of Pupil Tail.

Realfail Rules the Waves (Part 2) - A Paradox Megacampaign

Hello guys, Realfail here and I must apologize for the delay on this. I'm aware that I never set an agenda but I feel that it's a disservice to the few of you watching out there to not post regularly. Later I will do an update basically highlighting the new schedule AfricanManBeast and I are planning to make and I'll even post a new game for everyone out there.
................................................Message Over.............................................................................

Because last time all I did was announcements and the usual setting up, I'm going to get tons accomplished today.

First, I worked on making my character prestigious and went for the prestige buff decisions.

March eventually lost his scars and my fears of his early demise were pretty well sated.

Begin Wresting Control of Central Africa | Civilization V Gameplay Part 1

This game starts to get interesting!

In the prologue, I was just establishing the basis for what would soon become a massive empire. Now it was time to pursue my first actual military conquest. As Nigeria I started preparing a force that would march through the jungles to the heart Africa, where the Ethiopian empire lay.

One thing I did have to keep in mind though were the consequences that occur from my warmongering. I had discovered the Iberian peninsula, the first contact with Europeans, and I now my actions would start to have consequences with other civilizations. Not that I really cared, but I always like to keep realistic in my Civilization campaigns.

EVERYONE WAS MAD AT ME!

In the Beginning | Civilization 5 Giant Earth Map Nigeria Prologue

Hey guys, AfricanManBeast here. This will be my first after report of the first part of my GIANT EARTH MAP TSL (TRUE STARTING LOCATION) as the one and only Nigeria.

**The reason why this is a prologue is because the first part video file got corrupted so this post won't have pictures** :(

I started off on the coast thankfully. My capital was the wonderful city of Lagos (although it wasn't my most valuable city later in the game). My plan was to quickly scout west of my capital and to explore southern Africa to see if Shaka was there. Almost automatically I met...

Realfail Rules the Waves - A Paradox Megacampaign

"Kill me......." Those were the words I stated as I discovered that all my game saves were kept in the OneDrive documents folder instead of documents. So when I uninstalled OneDrive so went Germany Rises along with it. Because the blog was new and I had school stuff I didn't post for more than a month until now. Hello Noobventures, Realfail is back! (And nobody cares!!!!!!)

End Intro......................................................................................

Hey Noobventures! It's Realfail here, today in lieu of the failed Germany Rises AAR, I will be playing One game at a time which means more content! Today and for the next few months, I will be doing a Paradox Megacampaign. (For the uninitiated a Megacampaign is when you play the Paradox games in Historical order from CK2 - HOI4) My goal during CK2 is to form the British Empire. Let's get started!

I started in the year of our lord 769 in The Duchy of Powys. I didn't play as the Duke, however, I played as his vassal count. After taking a trip to the character creator, I made March of House Fail.

My Experience in Arena 4

Hey guys, AfricanManBeast here! If you haven't checked it out, also made a post a short while back today detailing my experience in Arena 3. Although Arena 3, Barbarian Bowl, was quite dull, Arena 4, Pekka's Playhouse, certainly was not. In Pekka's Playhouse, there was certainly a wider variety of decks that I came across.

People were also at much higher levels, making it much harder for me to get my troops to the tower without completely being annihilated by crown towers. Also, spells such as fireball also had less effect on troops that if on level, would kill/leave at low HP such as the Musketeer, Wizard etc (I fear the day when my fireball won't be able to kill a Minion Horde)

In this arena, since there were more cards at my disposal, I actually tried out different decks, although Giant, Musketeer, Witch was something that I never removed from my deck since they were so crucial to my strategy. In the end, only one deck really worked for me:

My Experience in Arena 3

Hey guys! AfricanManBeast here; I have been playing clash on my laptop for so long that I eventually reached PEKKA's Playground, although unfortunately I had accidentally claimed experience points from an achievement and reached Lvl 2. That doesn't matter, however, this post is going to be describing my experience in Arena 3, Barbarian Bowl.

There was not that big of a skill jump when reaching Barbarian Bowl from Bone Pitt. Although I was facing against tougher opponents, I relatively won most of my matches with ease. With a wider variety of cards, however, it was harder for me to counter the new cards that came with reaching Barbarian Bowl. Especially the rocket, which took almost all my troops except for Giant and Valkyrie, although leaving it at such low health.

Here's my deck:

UPDATE! Why the Lack of Posts.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know for those that still regularly check on the blog and are disappointed at the lack of posts, OUR APOLOGIES.

This blog is run by teenagers, so we still have school to worry about and there's a lot I have to worry about during school, but if any of you care about how I'm doing (probably not), I'm doing well!

Posts will come soon, I'm (AfricanManBeast) is making 2 Clash Royale posts as well as possibly 2 Civilization V posts detailing my experience with the Giant Earth Nigeria Game. RealFail also has promised to make some HOI4 so just wait a little bit longer!

That's all I have to say. Thanks for reading, and I hope to interact with you again on the next post!

Noobs will be noobs am I right?

My Experience in Arena 2

Arena 2 is different from Arena 1, that's for sure...

Although still filled with inexperienced players, there were some tough nuts that I couldn't get through. Though, most of my losses did come from facing over-leveled players whose Spear Goblins + Archers threatened to take out my crown tower.

Here's my sad deck:

It was pretty hard to work with this deck. Although effective, I didn't personally like it, and of course one is more likely to preform worse if they don't like what they do; in this case, what deck I'm using (I'm still salty that I didn't get a Prince ;( )...

What exactly is [the] Smashbox?

Hey guys! AfricanManBeast here and my interest has finally peaked on what the Smashbox is and what it's purpose was.

When I first heard of "Smashbox" I thought it was some program similar to Melee Light (I know, I'm lame) until I saw a video on Youtube regarding professional Melee player "Hax$" whose competitive career has basically ended due to hand injuries caused by continuous strain on the hands when using a Gamecube controller.

(I can't find the video again for some reason, if I do I'll surely put it here)

The Smashbox is basically an arcade controller that greatly reduces the stress on one's hands when playing Melee. Not only that but it makes it easier for players to be more technical in their game-play, as it's easier to do techniques such as wavedashing etc. (Awesome for noobs like me eh?)

Anyways, I think this is a really cool idea. Although still in development, if this thing becomes legal in tournaments and stuff, I think things will change. Unfortunately it only works for the Dolphin Emulator, no consoles yet, but I believe that there's development towards that. There's a guide on how to TRANSFORM your keyboard layout to match the Smashbox controller:

Recreating Hitbox's Smashbox on Dolphin / Optimized Keyboard Layout

That's all I really have to say about Smashbox. I'm really hoping it does become a success! Here are 2 links delving in deeper about what Smashbox is:

Civilization V Nigeria Giant Earth Map Trailer

Hey guys! AfricanManBeast here revealing to you all that I'm gonna go big with the next Civilization V game I'm doing.

As the title already suggests, I'm going to be doing a GIANT Earth map as Nigeria, only the greatest country in the world (I'm joking).

This will be pretty challenging for me since I've never played a large-scale game like this, I wonder how it will turn out but I'm not all that worried. I'm setting up the game to ensure that there aren't any restrictions to my expansion as I continue to expand the Nigerian empire!

For example,  got the No Happiness Mod, which removes happiness along with its penalties for dipping below to unhappiness.

Enough rambling, here's the trailer. I really do hope you enjoy it, although I think it could've been more dramatic and fitting of an upbeat movie trailer:

I really do hope you enjoy it, although I think it could've been more dramatic and fitting of an upbeat movie trailer. Oh well I guess I'm still a noob when it comes to video editing too eh?

New Troop Idea - Gandhi on a Nuke

Oh jeez, you'll hate me for this. I was making jokes about Gandhi and nukes and what not (Civilization joke) because I'm immature.  While doing so I actually thought of a plausible idea for a new troop card for Clash Royale: The Gandhi Nuke!

Soul-Heart Magearna in Doubles is OP! + Fun Singles Anything Goes

Pokemon Showdown today was REALLY fun! Partly because I used this go big or go home Magearna doubles team. It definitely was more of a troll team than a competitive team really. Those that had good counters usually won but anyone who wasn't prepared got WRECKED

This Pokemon has such a useful ability if protected properly. For those who don't know, Magearna has "Soul-Heart" which, according to the Pokemon Database, "raises the bearer's Special Attack one stage when a teammate faints. The general strategy is to use protect on Magearna first turn and try and rack up some SpA buffs before spamming Dazzling Gleam. Once it works, you can't help but get all giddy.
